It fixes problems that occurred when running FlatPress on HTTP-only web servers or behind load balancers / reverse proxies. If you work under one of these environments, you may want to install the update.

Update 1.3 to 1.3.1

  • At first: Create a backup of your blog. This enables you to rollback your changes in case of errors.
  • Simply unzip the update package and transfer its contents to your server. Overwrite existing files.
  • Rebuild index and caches: Admin Area -> Maintain -> Rebuild index and Purge theme and templates cache

After updating as described, the FlatPress backend (Maintain -> Check for updates) displays “You have FlatPress version 1.3.1”.

Update package: 1.3 to 1.3.1 (zip, 16 KiB)

Update 1.2 to 1.3.1

Before updating, please note:

  • FlatPress 1.3 comes with a new version of the Smarty template engine, which has changed considerably. We strongly advise you to test the update to 1.3 on a copy of your productive blog first.
Old versions of plugins and themes may be incompatible with FlatPress 1.3 / Smarty 4, causing errors or even a blank page. Check if third-party themes and plugins are available in new versions that work with FlatPress 1.3.
If you use self-made themes and plugins, make sure they keep working with FlatPress 1.3 / Smarty 4.
  • The Akismet plugin is deprecated and will not continue to work with FlatPress 1.3. Before updating FlatPress to 1.3, enter your Akismet key into the Comment Center plugin instead (it provides Akismet spam filtering as well), and delete the Akismet plugin.

The actual update from 1.2 (or 1.2.1) to 1.3.1 is quite simple:

  • At first: Create a backup of your blog. This enables you to rollback your changes in case of errors.
  • Simply unzip the update package and transfer its contents to your server. Overwrite existing files.
  • Rebuild index and caches: Admin Area -> Maintain -> Rebuild index and Purge theme and templates cache

After updating as described, the FlatPress backend (Maintain -> Check for updates) displays “You have FlatPress version 1.3.1”.

Update package: 1.2 to 1.3.1 (zip, 3.2 MiB)
