Can't create new post with Datechanger

Please tell me if the is known.

I needed to add blog posts from a Tumblr blog to a new installation. I wanted the dates to be the same as the creation dates (most from 2011) so I downloaded the latest version of Datechanger I could find, which was 2.1. Once I installed it, known of the new entry buttons at the bottom of the post would work. I tried version 2.0 with the same result. FlatPress version is latest 1.0 release.

Could the fact that the language was Italian be the difference?

Warning when checking for updates

I am running FlatPress 1.0 and I like it a lot.

When checking for updates in the maintenance section of the admin panel (aka calling this site admin.php?p=maintain&action=updates) I get a warning instead:

And then only the footer is displayed.

Limit the display of content {$content|tag:the_content} / sneak preview of a post in a .tpl file

Hi,

I have another question & hope someone can help in guiding me. Is there a way to limit how much of content I want to display using {$content|tag:the_content} in a .tpl file? Example only first 200 chars or 15 sentences. I know there is a read more plugin, but I need only one code I can put in a .tpl file to show a little preview of a post. Tnx!

Ho abilitato il pluging sharethis su flatpress, ma per ogni notizia che inserisco su i miei 2 siti web, non vorrei inserire il tag [sharethis] tutte le volte. Almeno 1-2 notizie al giorno. E' possibile inserire il tag già direttamente sul file entry-default.tpl
Ho già provato ad inserire il tag cosi dentro il file entry-default.tpl, ma non funziona:

I think it should work with most modern browsers. I noticed a problem with the bottom menu when I tested in Maxthon 2, but there won't be many Maxthon 2 users out their own these days :p It's to do with the inline-blocks displaying vertically - it's probably fixable but only if someone complains admits to using such an out-of-date browser. Same goes for IE6 & IE7.

If you use the sticky post widget position I recommend you also use Piero's "Comments Always Visible" plugin to avoid displaying the sticky post when you're viewing individual entries. You can get this plugin in a zip file from my blog on the same page as the download link for the theme.

... the whole post content only in the post. I know that I can use the 'read more', but I need to speed up the content entry process. So every time the 'read more' is more work. I tried to edit the template, but when I remove the whole post view from front page & category, the content of the post isn't shown in the entry view also. Is there a plugin or something, or am I missing something? There is got to be a way of editing the front page entry view only without messing with the whole entry. Can anyone help please? I'd appreciate any help. Or at least point me to the php file I have to edit to remove content from front page. I need only post title, date & post category shown. Tnx guyz. Peace!

Salve a tutti, per un po' di tempo, prima di risolvere definitivamente il problema dello spam su Flatpress, passai ad usare PivotX.
Ottimo prodotto, in verità, ma non va molto d'accordo con il php 5.1, nel senso che funziona ma va mooooooooolto lento.
Quindi adesso sono tornato DEFINITIVAMENTE a Flatpress, però ogni tanto spulcio sul sito di PivotX nella sezione temi.
Se a qualcun può interessare, ci sarebbe questo tema da prendere in cosiderazione per un'eventuale conversione http://themes.pivotx.net/archive/2012-04-19/crystalx/weblog, ovviamente richiedendo autorizzazioni e quanto serve prima di inziare la conversione.
Se poi ve ne piace qualcun altro, fate pure.

changing directory issue

Hi I've moved my flatpress blog from one directory to another. I've followed the instruction found on the wiki. everything is working but all the articles are not visible. via ftp I can see that the articles are there but from the blog I cannot see them.

What I'm doing wrong?

Salve a tutti,
dopo parecchio tempo torno qui nel forum di flatpress perchè ho un problema con il tema iGray.
Intendiamoci, funzionare funziona, ma c'è il problema che se provo a cliccare il link per aggiungere un commento, sia da loggato sia da semplice visitatore, compare in tutti e due i casi una pagina bianca.
Da cosa può dipendere?

[ita] Ciao a tutti.. sono nuovissimo e scusate le domande magari ovvie o semplicistiche che faccio qui:

Essendo, per ora, FlatPress non multiutente o multiauthor, mi chiedevo come poter comunque far si che chiunque possa
pubblicare un nuovo post (invece che solo commentare miei post pre-postati).
L'idea e' quella di avere un blog dove piu' utenti sono 'semi-admin', cioe' che possano mettere nuovi post senza pero' dare
a tutti la gestione completa del blog (statiche, plugins, configurazione, ecc).

Per ora l'unica idea che ho avuto e' quella di rinominare il file admin.php e togliere in ogni posto il link a "Pannello amministrazione".

C'e' qualche metodo migliore?

Weird Flatpress Bug

Hey, I'm experiencing a pretty weird bug. It started a couple of months ago. I then updated to the latest version and it was again fine for a while, but it cropped up again. I did a complete reinstall from scratch - even recreating the .htaccess file. Today it cropped up again.

Basically, what happens is that just the top of the main site and admin page shows up (the header) and nothing else. Clearing the cache via ftp fixes it for the main site, but not the admin page. I'm not sure what causes it, but I'm using Bluehost if that makes any difference and the site is http://www.trixarian.net/

giusto ieri mi sono iscritto a Google+ e questo ha fatto riaffiorare una mia vecchia idea per un plugin per FP.
I social network mi interessano il giusto, ma la cosa positiva che hanno è quella ti tenerti informato su cosa decidono di farti sapere gli altri utenti che sono tuoi amici.

In pratica è un blog nel quale vengono visualizzati i post anche degli altri.

Non si potrebbe fare un plugin che, nella sua finestra, elenchi gli ultimi n post degli altri utenti di FP che hai aggiunto alla tua lista di amici?

In pratica nell'amministrazione del plugin inserisci l'indirizzo internet del blog di FP e lui ti restituisce il nome dei blog ed il titolo dei post.

title of contact page

By default the title of the contact page is the same as the main page, that is the title of the blog. I wanted to change the title to something like the title of the About page, "[title of blog] >> Contact". Is there any easy way for this. I had a quick look at code and modified contact.php in the main folder. The changes I made to get this are:
in contact_display() added this line:
add_filter('wp_title', 'contact_title', 10, 2);
and defined this function:
        function contact_title($title, $sep) {
                $t = "Contact";
                $title = "$title $sep $t";
                return $title;
        }
I see for other pages apparently a table is used in order to make localization easier perhaps. Have I reinvented the wheel or really this bit is missing in the code for the title of the contact page?

Can't install/use FlatPress at the subdomain

This is the situation. I have a hosting where I ran flatpress without any problems, until recently when I decided to move my blog to a subdomain. So I created subdomain with a Plesk Control Panel (standard), copied all flatpress files to an appropriate directory and changed necessary permissions (fp-content). But for some reason blog with a same permissions is not working properly in my subdomain. It can be read and browsed but when I try to create a new entry I get an error message (in flatpress) that message couldnt be created. I deleted blog and tried to do a fresh installation again, at both my domain and subdomain. Installation at my domain went without problems, as it should, but installation in subdomain failed after last step where you are supposed to fill login and email information. All I got was blank screen. I made a screenshot of fp-content directory for both successful and unsuccessful installation. You can see some difference. but i am sure there are some people already implemented some sort or banner rotator in their website ...

i have been doing a search online, i would like to avoid flash tool (because flash is not usable on iPad), some free script dont offer offer documentation on how to do it, some script requires payment ...

503 Error when using AOL browser

I've recently been contacted by multiple AOL browser users that they are getting the 'Error 503 : Service Unavailable For You' message when accessing my flatpress bog: http://www.enablerpublications.co.uk/blog/ through the AOL browser. They have since accessed successfully via firefox, IE, Chrome, but still AOL gives the 503 error. All attempts to configure the AOL browser (cache clearing, turning off graphic compression) have been made but none work. The blog worked fine via the AOL browser up to about 2 weeks ago when the error first appeared.

Has anyone else enountered this problem with their own blog, or when viewing the above link via AOL?

And could anyone offer some advice on how to fix this?

I am new using this blog, and I like it, but i can´t setup PrettyURLs to work OK always I get link like it

i am doing it:

1- upload flatpress to a sub-domain

2- install it

3- I check PrettyURLs plug ins is Enabled

4 - I rename and copied the file htaccess.txt in /web/content/fp-plugins/prettyurls to .htaccess and copied it in the root (/web/content)

I test and continue /?x=entry:entry120404-165651

in this file appear RewriteBase /~nowhereman/flatpress/ I change to

RewriteBase / and not work, i clear cache, i rebuild the index, my server

PHP Version 5.2.13 so any hint please

Arianna's story inside the reb box -> how to decrease the amount of space between the outer border of the red box to the text line .....
how to decrease the space between the white box (body container ???) which contains header + content + ... and the html body .....

hi there,

I started looking at FlatPress because our ISP wants to charge a lot of money for a MYSQL database. We created our own theme within a few hours and had the site up and running a short while later.

Please have a look at the site at http://www.thevillains.co.za

We'd like to add an event calendar to the site. At the moment its just a static page which I edit to remove events, etc., but we'd like this to be done a little more dynamically. I used PHP a long while ago and would like to know if anyone can help me with such a task.

Lastly, The file upload/manager seems to have a few issues, if I'm in a gallery folder and I upload a file it uploads to the base directory, not to the gallery folder, then moving the file to the specific folder only copies it, so there are several steps involved in getting files to the correct folder. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Overall FlatPress is easy to use and works great - Thanks for a great product!
