404 Entry not found with minus "-" in the headline
  • I create a entry with the minus symbol in the headline eg

"Bla bla bla - Now with more typos!"

Then, i click on the entry headline and I got the 404 Error. If I replace the - with an | it works fine... is this a known bug?
I use pretty URLs and the newest FP version :)

  • uhm. I've just tried on my personal blog (which is pretty vanilla) and it WorksForMe(tm)... Can anybody else confirm?

I'm guessing here, are you using some script to change hyphens to em-dashes or something like that?
  • Strangely it is only sometimes, not every time. Script, not to my knowlege woult a list of my plugins help?

Next time it happens, I try to change the Theme, maybe it's that.
  • You're not using Live Writer and the remoteposting plugin by any chance, are you?

I had a problem with that screwing up my news feeds because it was changing characters in the entry titles...

  • No, don't use that Plugin. But I just found something:

If I name the entrie eg: "bla bla bla - new bla" the url is sometimes: blog/?u=/2012/01/29/bla-bla-bla---new-bla

If I rename it to "bla bla bla | new bla" the url is: blog/?u=/2012/01/29/bla-bla-bla-|-new-bla
and rename it back to "bla bla bla - new bla" the url is now: blog/?u=/2012/01/29/bla-bla-bla-new-bla
wothout the - between the two -

    Maybe ist PrettyURLs?
  • I can't really reproduce your problem. any example you give me always produces (both with the dash and the pipe) produce the same sanitized string "bla-bla-bla-new-bla" for me.

Are you sure you have not enable any conflicting plugin?
