    Just tried this plugin and it's a great timesaver!

    I'm wondering, though, if it is possible to sort the images in the gallery alphabetically by their filenames? Is there any extra parameter I should include or any modifications to the code I can do to achieve this?

    Thanks.

    i have gd enabled but your wiki isn't much helpfull :P

    you said just put [gallery=images/dir] in post and it should work, but it wont :(

    i tried every combination of url like:
    [gallery=http://site.com/images/dir/]
    [gallery=http://site.com/images/dir]
    [gallery=site.com/images/dir/]
    [gallery=site.com/images/dir]
    [gallery=/images/dir/]
    [gallery=/images/dir]
    [gallery=images/dir/]
    [gallery=images/dir]

    but all i can get is <div class="img-gallery ......"></div>

    can you please explain exactly how to write url, and also where to put those "otherparameters"? and what otherparameters are?

    The gallery plugin works just fine and the wiki entry is very helpful, IMO. Assuming that you have already activated the gallery plugin, here are the things you need to do next. First, ftp into your fp-content/images folder. Create a subfolder (let's say you name it "dir"). Make this subfolder writable (chmod 777), and upload all the pictures for your gallery there.

    Then put [gallery=images/dir scale=25%] in your post where you want the gallery to appear. The scale=25% is an example of "otherparameters", this will generate the thumbnails for your images. Other IMG parameters include width=n, height=n, and others listed in the bbcode plugin wiki .

    Hope this helps.

    NWM should add in the wiki entry that folders must be under fp-content or plugin wont work ;)

    that plugin is an extension to bbcode [img], and therefore the same rules apply: external links (http://blabla) won't work (and if they will, they probably won't act as expected), images/ is a shorthand for fp-content/images/ otherwise path is assumed to be relative to the blogroot (usually /flatpress/)

    so
    [gallery=images/blabla/] for flatpress/fp-content/images/blabla/
    [gallery=myimages/blabla/] for flatpress/myimages/blabla/
    and IIRC:
    [gallery=/blabla/] for yoursite.com/blabla/

    In the code of the plugin in a comment is written
    // $content is the text between the two tags, i.e. [tag]CONTAINED TEXT[/tag] $content='CONTAINED TEXT'
    This means that I can have a custom text to display during the slideshow (instead of "Viewing image xx of n")? Or this is simply not possible?

    no, that's because the code was copy&pasted from another plugin; BTW it could be eventually changed to support that syntax as well

    This is a very nice plugin! :)
    I wonder if it is posible to implement such couple of changes:

    A. -Private gallery/folder
    By this i meant that if a gallery/folder be "private" the content only displays a LINK for an input password, once its correct display the thumbs and images??
    B. -Any possibility that the grid of images can be displayed with some padding from the post alingment?
    I was in need that the grid created by this plugin move some pixels to the right in order to align with a "box" I created to the ReadMore section...

    edit: Solved by tag '.image-gallery { } into common.css
    C. -Landscape vs portrait images
    Here I have 2 issues:
    - if I use same values for the 'height' of images, the grid is correct but the portrait image displayed in lightbox is too small;
    - if I use different 'heights' for portrait and landscape images, the grid looks ugly but the image display in lightbox is correct;

    can this plugin or the lightbox use different scales for portrait and landscape, so the grid can be displayed fine and lightbox show the real image sizes??

    Thanks,
    Vitor

    Ps: here's some link to better show the B and C questions:

    B. Use something like .img-gallery {
    padding: 10px;
    background: #222;
    }
    .img-gallery img {
    margin: 2px 0 2px 0;
    padding: 5px;
    }

    Thanks. Solved it via .css
    Regarding yr question about TITLES... Maybe EXIF if implemmented can solve it,
    I found in "bettergallery" WP plugin this code:
    // Get EXIF from WP and set in title
    $metadata = wp_get_attachment_metadata($id);
    $image_meta = $metadata[image_meta];
    //print_r ($metadata);
    if($image_meta[camera]) $title = ''.$image_meta[camera].' ';
    if($image_meta[focal_length]) $title .= '@ '.$image_meta[focal_length].' mm ';
    if($image_meta[shutter_speed]) $title .= '- &#185;/'.(1/($image_meta[shutter_speed])).' sec';
    if($image_meta[aperture]) $title .= ', &#131;/'.$image_meta[aperture].'';
    if($image_meta[iso]) $title .= ', ISO '.$image_meta[iso].'';
    if($image_meta[created_timestamp]) $title .= ' on '.date('j F, Y',$image_meta[created_timestamp]).'';

    - Can it be implemented to QuickGallery to set the tittle?? (then will be easy to hack slimbox.j to display it...)

    nice idea. since there's no wp_get_attachment_metadata(), you can use exif_read_data() anyway

    of course you'll need the exif module installed.

    it should be added to the bbcode plugin (do_img_tag() function)

    Right, exif function is quite simple in PHP, but then how to send information to the function plugin_quickgallery_gallery($action, $attr, $content, $params, &$node_object)
    ?

    it should be added to the bbcode plugin (do_img_tag() function)

    -Can you better explain or show that kind of function on plugin.bbcode.php?

    here's TEH awesome patched bbcode plugin:
    http://flatpress.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/flatpress/flatpress/fp-plugins/bbcode/plugin.bbcode.php?revision=202

    it will put the TITLE field of your image in the title= html attribute and the comment field in the ALT= text

    NOTE: tested only in SVN, should work, though

    Hi,
    I managed to put both titles and Exif for this plugin. :)
    (Of course php exif extension must be active or supported by yr site host)

    3 things are needed:
    - Edit plugin.bbcode.php - to get exif tags
    - edit slimbox.js - to add a new line and separate title and exif string
    - use a Exif writer (i use 'QuickExifWriter' to set the tag for Title/description in images)

    I am too BAD at php or javascript, so please, take a look if everything is ok and if can be implemented in the next plugin versions.
    Thanks..

    here's the result:

    mod of plugin.bbcode.php

    // ************************* EXIF MODULE *************************************************************
    if(extension_loaded(exif)) {
    $exif_info = exif_read_data ( $actualpath ,'IFD0' ,0 );

    $eiso = $exif_info['ISOSpeedRatings']; //ASA
    $eexif = $emodelo . ' f/'. $eabertura . ' ' . $eexposicao. ' ISO' . $eiso;
    if (($emodelo == '') and ($eexposicao == '') and ($eabertura == '') and ($eiso == '')) {
    $eexif = 'Exif not found!';
    };
    $etitulo = $exif_info['ImageDescription']; //description set by Exif Writer
    if ($etitulo != '') {
    $alt = $title = $etitulo . '| ' .$eexif;
    } else {$alt = $title = basename($actualpath) . '| ' .$eexif;;};
    };
    // **************************************************************************************

    I know I must be stubid!!

    Even though there is a perfect explanation in the wiki and in the comments above I can't seem to get the gallery plugin work!!
    I use a mac, dreamweaver and I show my php files with mamp (xampp)!!!

    1.) I copy the source code from the wiki!
    2.) I create a folder quickgallery in the fp_plugins directory
    3.) I create a php file with filename plugin.quickgallery.php and save it in my new quickgallery folder
    4.) I paste the source code of the gallery plugin in my php file and save it!
    5.) I copy the source code from the modified lightbox.plugin and overwrite the orignal one!!
    6.) I create a folder called images in my fp-content directory!!
    7.) I create a folder called dir in my new images folder
    8.) I copy some (5) simple images (jpg's converted for web) in this folder!!
    9.) I open up my flatpress admin panel and start a new entry!
    10.) I call the title "Gallery test" and write following line in my textpanel:

    [gallery=images/dir/ scale=25%]

    11.) I save the entry!
    12.) I go to home and all I can see is:

    gallery image

    what's the problem though???

    I don't get ist...thank you!!

    another question...if I'm using this gallery plugin, I always have to start my ftp, upload a folder with a few images in it in my fp-content/images - directory and then refer to it in the flatpress-entry form, don't I?

    is there a plugin for the uploader plugin to sort of upload image folders as well?? that would be just great, wouldn't it?

    Here I have some questions about it.

    1) Is there any better version of this plugin? I doesn't have to be the updated one, could be another one.

    2) Will this work without images uploaded to yout FTP?, I mean, using images from imageshack or photobucket?

    3) If so, how can I do it?

    thanks for this.

    i was wondering if someone can help.

    im trying to have different galleries for photos in the same static page "Photogallery"
    i implemented this plugin in the gallery/dir and everything works fine
    but as soon as i create 2 subfolders in my gallery/dir i only get the title of the jpg and not the thumbnail.

    i tested it out and it seems the only problem is that this plugin doesnt like sub directories for the physical image locations.

    has anyone tried this or figured out a solution?

    thanks.

    btw, im not a super web programmer by anymeans, so i may have missed something.

    i guess it's just a problem of permissions; be sure to chmod your files to 644 and dirs to 755 (or 777 for everything)
