Hi everyone,

Just wanted to see if anyone has tried to place a google maps interface into thier flatpress site?
I did a search and nothing came up.

I tried placing the GM code into a blog entry (generated by the GM wizard) and it does not work.
I recopied the same code into an html file and it works fine, but not in flatpress.

My hopes was to build a guestmap where a visitor can enter where they are in the world and place a marker on the map but I cant get the first steps to work.

Would anyone know why or have any ideas?

here is the GM code

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
<html xmlns="" xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml">
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
<title>Google Maps JavaScript API Example: Simple Map</title>
<script src=""
<script type="text/javascript">

function initialize() {
if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) {
var map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map_canvas"));
map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.4419, -122.1419), 13);

<body onload="initialize()" onunload="GUnload()">
<div id="map_canvas" style="width: 500px; height: 300px"></div>
1.  permalink
The easy way:
- go to
- search your location
- chose the detail-area and zoom in, select map-style etc.
- click on the "Link"-link in the top right corner
- a fly-over layer appears with a short code-snippet inside like that: (you can adjust the settings with the additional Link underneath the code-snippet)

<iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0"

Put
Code-Snippet from google
Everything should work just fine.

For additional Functions it could be useful to get a google maps entry with your personalized google-id (see google help). This code must be entered in head-area of the index.php...
