I've been eager to try out more than just a simple hello world intro for my flatpress blog, but have been unable to do so due to the amount of time involved in reverse engineering existing theme, no thanks to the horribly inept "minihowtotheme" page.

Is there anyone out there who can provide a step by step tutorial on how to build my own theme? Keep in mind, I do not know PHP. I primarily need to know which files are the most important, which are required, etc. so I can start the process of porting my own html/css styles onto flatpress (without having to bluntly insert in-tag styling on the index.tpl).

If I cannot find such a tutorial, one I think the main flatpress site needs to make available, I'm afraid i will have to ditch flatpress & remain tied down with Blogger. Thank You.

I add today evening an overview of Leggero in the Flatpress Wiki. It is at present only a small attempt, but the time will show more...

    Great stuff!

May I also recommend the following which is one of the clearest introductions to Smarty templating I've seen anywhere. Even I understood it :P It's well worth reading in conjunction with what's on the wiki...
